Healing The Wounds With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Healing The Wounds That Create The Problem

Trauma’s experienced from the past can show up in various ways in your present-day life.  Sometimes we know when they show up, and sometimes we just know that our behavior isn’t quite right, and we just cannot pinpoint why.

There is definitely value in understanding the underlying reasons how and why you behave in such a way when trauma is involved.  In order to do that, you have got to want to change.

Mindset, along with other things are a great starting point.  Did you know that you can still feel guilt and shame, and get on with your life?  Life can be better, and it’s not that difficult to do.  We just need to learn how to take those negative belief systems that we’ve self-talked ourselves to death with and learn how to change them into something more positive and meaningful.

Instead of labeling the past as good or bad, label it as “life feedback” and seek the learning from it, even if it was a horrific past.  Ask yourself, how did you grow from that experience?

Seek ways to forgive yourself for continuing to relive the torment time and time again.  The brain needed a story.  It needed understanding.  Accepting that sometimes we don’t have the answers to those questions is okay.  Coming to terms with the fact that sometimes not having the answer is what brings us peace.

Then we can make the choice to move from it.  To let it go.  To release yourself from all of the negativity surrounding that memory and releasing it back to the past.

Knowing that you cannot change what happened, but you can change how you see it, how you perceive it, and how you can move on with your life in spite of having that awful thing happen to you.

If you’d like to learn more ways of distancing yourself from the painful memories of the past, give me a call and let’s talk.  Together we can explore ways to help you grow from the pain in a positive way.  To learn how to live a life that is fulfilling and deserving.

You cannot defeat the past or your fears by thinking obsessively about it.  It’s time to create a new story.  Let me help you!
